International Youth Day

12 August: International Youth Day

On 12 August 2025, World Youth Day reminds us of the importance of empowering young people to become pioneers in the societies and economies of the future. The young generation faces significant challenges in the labour market, such as high unemployment and demands for new skills, but innovation and creativity make them key to tomorrow’s success.

The digital age requires employees with technological knowledge and the ability to adapt to rapidly evolving sectors, business consultants in Cyprus reveal. Young people, with their familiarity with technology, are able to offer new ideas and solutions to problems that previous generations could not have imagined. A study by McKinsey & Company notes that 45% of young people under 30 say they prefer to work in companies that promote innovation and the use of new technologies.

The integration of young people into the world of business and the provision of opportunities for personal and professional development are priorities for modern companies. Today, many companies adopt internship and training programs aimed at developing young people’s skills and strengthening their entrepreneurial culture. For example, Google has developed the Google for Startups program, which offers young entrepreneurs tools and guidance to bring their ideas to life. Business and strategy consultants can guide businesses towards successful inclusion in these programs.

World Youth Day is an opportunity for businesses to recognize the power of the young generation and invest in their growth through mentoring, training and leadership enhancement. Young people are the seed for the future of business, and investing in them not only strengthens society, but also creates a sustainable and innovative business community.

Empowering young people is not only a social responsibility, but also a strategic choice for business development and the consolidation of corporate culture in the era of globalization and technological progress.
