5th of June: World Environment Day 

On 5th of June 2025, World Environment Day is a powerful reminder of the need to protect our planet. With this year’s theme focusing on “Sustainable Consumption and Production”, the day calls for action to reduce the environmental footprint caused by human activities. 

UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) points out that global CO₂ emissions need to be reduced by 7% per year by 2030 to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. The role of businesses as well as business consultants is crucial in this effort, as sustainable practices can not only reduce environmental risks but also offer new business opportunities. 

Investment in green energy is on the rise. In 2024, global spending on renewable energy exceeded $500 billion, indicating that the industry is expected to continue its rapid growth. Research shows that 60% of consumers prefer brands committed to sustainability, highlighting the growing demand for responsible business. At the same time, financial instruments such as “green bonds” allow companies to raise capital for projects related to the environment.
